“AntiCovid19 Cambodia” fund held its annual meeting in-person with fruitful outcome

(Phnom Penh) Members of the “AntiCovid19 Cambodia” fund on Saturday morning, November 27, 2021, held its annual meeting in person in accordance with the medical guidelines for the prevention of COVID-19 infection set by the Ministry of Health. This meeting was chaired by Mr. Hor Sereyvath, founder and president of “AntiCovid19 Cambodia”. 

At the gathering, Mr. Hor Sereyvath said that “AntiCovid19 Cambodia” was established in March 2020 as the Telegram Group, which aims to share and clarify information, knowledge, and messages related to COVID-19. Later, with a lot of requests from people who are members of the group also asked to set up a fund to be able to contribute to the fight against COVID-19 with the Royal Government, as a result in April 2021, the “AntiCovid19 Cambodia” fund was created.

According to its press statement, “AntiCovid19 Cambodia” has three main missions: 1. Be a social network for information dissemination and education, 2. Be a mechanism for facilitation and intervention between the people and the relevant authorities related to COVID-19, 3. Be a humanitarian forum through the “AntiCovid19 Cambodia” fund.

As a result, “AntiCovid19 Cambodia” achieved the following results in 2020-2021: 1. Mobilizes more than 55555 Telegram members, 2. Coordinate, consult and intervene to solve problems for the people every day related to COVID-19, such as quarantine, vaccination, sampling, and transporting COVID-19 patients, contributing to the treatment of COVID-19, etc. These activities have been done every day in collaboration with ministries and institutions at the national and sub-national levels, especially the Ministry of Health, 3. The “AntiCovid19 Cambodia” fund has donated food packages to more than 5,000 families, more than 7,000 packs of medicine, and more than $ 100,000 worth of medical equipment and supplies to anti-COVID19 institutions. This support is received from national and international philanthropists who are satisfied with Cambodia's actions against COVID-19 and in line with the slogan "Help each other in times of need, know good friends in difficult times."

The statement also said that “AntiCovid19 Cambodia” would like to express our sincere thanks to the leaders of the Royal Government of Cambodia, officials at all levels of the Ministry of Health, Ministry of National Defense, Army Command of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, Capital-Provincial Authorities and subordinate authorities, A team of white doctors, volunteers, associations and organizations involved in the fight against COVID-19, and especially national and international philanthropists who trust and support the Cambodian volunteer team against COVID-19 to fulfill our three main missions. We are proud to present results for all of our members to make a small contribution to the Royal Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia, with Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen as the best leader in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to its statement, “AntiCovid19 Cambodia” also would like to express our deepest gratitude to His Excellency Hun Manet and Lok Chumteav Pech Chanmony for supporting and intervening to help the people in need, budget, materials, and spirit, which are the most important capital for the mission of “AntiCovid19 Cambodia”. They would also like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for the constant participation of Lok Chumteav O Vandin in responding to the notification, sharing information, knowledge, and solutions with the people in the group on a regular basis, and providing opportunities. This support helps “AntiCovid19 Cambodia” to participate in activities in the spirit of fulfilling our core mission to combat the spread of COVID-19.

“AntiCovid19 Cambodia” is a social organization formed by a group of Cambodians who volunteer to contribute to public health without regard to religion, political affiliation, or national origin.

It consists of more than 50 volunteers, including leaders in ministries, institutions, national and sub-national civil servants, shareholders, leaders and employees of private companies, leaders and officials of NGOs, the military. , police, doctors and health workers, university students, and the general public.

“AntiCovid19 Cambodia” was founded by Mr. Hor Sereyvath as well as the composition of other core members in its structure:
